Farmstead First, LLC Page

Purpose

Farmstead First, LLC, was formed in 2005 as way for Krista Dittman and Charuth Loth to create cheese using milk from their farms. But that’s not all they wanted to accomplish. They also wanted to bring the craft of cheesemaking to anyone interested in learning. So they formed an organization that would allow them to bring a value-added product to their operations, as well as reach out into the community to educate anyone willing to learn.

Members

Farmstead First is a partnership between two farms: Branched Oak Farm and Shadowbrook Farm. This allows the two farms to share the work of starting a dairy operation as well as help to market their products cooperatively. Clover Cove Ranch Dairy is also currently marketing their cheese with Farmstead First at the Lincoln and Omaha farmers markets.
