Cheese
Branched Oak Farm is dedicated to the practice of producing farmstead cheeses. Our farmstead cheese is unique in that it’s made right here on our farm, using only milk from our own animals. Because we utilize this practice when making our cheese, we’re able to control how the milk is produced. This is important because we know that our milk is chemical-free and has the unique flavor from grazing on only our farm’s grasses. The French use the word ‘terrior’ to describe this unique taste.
Our cheese is aged in our very own cave. This temperature- and humidity-controlled environment allows our cheese to ripen to perfection.
Quark
What is Quark? Quark is a European cooking essential, similar to yogurt cheese, but not so sour. It is one of our bestsellers and will add zing to any recipe.
Camembert
We use the best of our farm-fresh, pasteurized milk to produce a Camembert reminiscent of Northern France. We age this fragrant cheese in our cheese cave for 2-3 weeks before it’s ready.
Once you break through the soft rind, you’ll discover a cheese that is so flavorful and creamy. Grab a baguette, an apple some nuts and a bottle of your favorite red to go along with this one.
Gouda
Branched Oak Farm Gouda is a raw-milk, natural rind cheese aged in our cave for a minimum of 60 days. It’s a firm cheese with a nutty taste.
Seasonal Selection
These cheeses are made in extra small batches and only seasonally. This is a way for us to test-market certain cheeses as well as highligh the differences in the milk throughout the season.
